A tribute to the life of Mick Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott following her suicide in New York.

ROLLING Stones frontman Mick Jagger remains in Australia mourning the loss of his partner L'Wren Scott — who had reportedly planned to visit him Down Under — as his management endeavours to reschedule the band's Australasian tour.

The grief-stricken singer made the final call to postpone the entire tour late last night as he composed his heartfelt tribute to designer and stylist Scott, who took her life on Tuesday.

While Jagger struggles to comprehend his loss, his team continue to negotiate the logistics of bringing the mammoth 14 On Fire tour back Down Under before the end of the year.

The promoter of the Adelaide Oval grand opening concert has said the band will return to perform with their full outdoor production, as seen at Hyde Park in London last year, at the end of the football season and possibly as early as October.

However Jagger, who reportedly hasn't slept since being informed of his lover's death while having dinner at a Perth restaurant, will have the final say on if and when the shows will happen.

Frontier Touring encouraged fans to hold onto their tickets while they negotiated with the Stones camp.

Those who want an immediate refund can now request it from the relevant ticketing agency.

The next dates scheduled for the band start in early June in Europe.

It has been claimed that Scott was reportedly planning to visit Mick Jagger in Australia and had not split with the singer in the weeks leading up to her death.

Although they had been spent little time with each other over the past few months due to the singer's touring commitments, Scott and Jagger were still an item, the Daily Mail said.

So much so that the fashion designer planned to visit Jagger towards the end of March while he was touring Australia, the paper added.

In his online tribute, Jagger said he was struggling to make sense of his partner's suicide.

"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," Jagger wrote on his website, under a black-and-white photo of a smiling Scott.

"We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.

Jagger paid tribute to Scott's "great presence" and skill as a fashion designer, saying "her talent was much admired, not least by me".

The singer also thanked his fans for their support.

In a statement on their website, the Rolling Stones said they "are deeply sorry and disappointed" to postpone their 14 ON FIRE Australian and New Zealand tour in the wake of Scott's death.

"Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood wish to thank their fans for their support at this difficult time and hope that they will fully understand the reason for this announcement," the statement said.

Initial reports indicated that Jagger and his bandmates left Western Australia yesterday for New York after hearing the tragic news.

But there is now speculation that the band members have not left and are still holed up in their Perth hotel. Their private jet is still sitting on the tarmac at Perth International Airport.

News Corp reporters are trying to confirm if the band is still in Australia.

Scott's body was found at her apartment in New York's Chelsea. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

The postponed shows in Australia are Perth Arena, March 19, Adelaide Oval, March 22, Sydney Allphones Arena, March 25, Melbourne Rod Laver Arena, March 28, Macedon Ranges Hanging Rock, March 30, Brisbane Entertainment Centre, April 2, Auckland Mt Smart Stadium, April 5.

Frontier has asked ticket holders to please hold on to their tickets until further notice.

Jagger's words came after Scott's former housekeeper said the legendary rocker had "other women", but that Scott accepted it as the price she had to pay to be with him.

Scott's former housekeeper said the statuesque fashion designer "sacrificed a lot" to be in a relationship with Jagger.

Lupe Montufar, who was Scott's full-time housekeeper for 16 years (she ended her tenure when Scott moved permanently to New York from Los Angeles in 2009), told the New York Daily News she was at a loss to explain Scott's death but said that her relationship with Jagger had taken a toll.

"She would tell me she wanted to get married and have a family, but she didn't want to get her hopes up or say it out loud to Mick. She didn't want to pressure him," Ms Montufar said.

"She always dreamt about having fame, fortune and money. She had all that in her hands with him."

Scott, whose business was said to be millions in debt, was found dead in her New York apartment on Monday morning.

Ms Montufar said that the Rolling Stones' frontman took centre stage in Scott's life.

"She sacrificed a lot to be with him. A few years ago, she thought she'd be with him forever and have a family," Ms Montufar said.

"She knew there were other women, but she accepted it to be with him."

During her 16 years with Scott, Ms Montufar said that while she never knew her to be clinically depressed, she said the designer would occasionally get "sad" if she didn't have enough work to focus on.

Ms Montufar said she lost contact with Scott when the former model sold her Los Angeles house to spend more time in Europe and New York, to be closer to Jagger.

"She was very loud and fun when she was young, but with Mick she turned more quiet.

"She used to yell 'Lupe' in a fun, boisterous voice, but later it was much softer and more reserved," recalled Ms Montufar.

"He had her under his spell."
